You may hear of the famous “deathbed” contemplative comments, wise words of how one could have better used their time on this Earth. One popular view of society is that nothing is more important than personal relationships. Though relationships are priceless and vitally important I would rank another value above this and it’s roots are founded in the greatest command in the Bible:
“YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND” (-Luke 10:27).
When we do this our mission on Earth drives us forward despite all despair. Your most cherished loved ones (close family or your very dearest friends) can pass away, betray, or even abandon you! However your relationship with God, talents, and purpose continue onward.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” (-Psalm 119:105)
Apply scripture in light of scripture however, for if in perusing a mission for God you neglect your family you are in violation of Gods word. Treasure your relationships, love your neighbor as yourself, yet pick up the pieces and march onward in faith when loved ones are lost. Ultimately God will restore those relationships and cherished memories in Heaven for those who love the lord.
